Ius & Politia Foundation Innovation Award

Academy of Moral and Political Sciences

On Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Institut de France, Sandrine Grenier, associate professor of private law and researcher at LICeM, and Sandy Blanco, professor of film and audiovisual studies at the IUT in Béziers, received the 2025 Innovation Award, which was unanimously awarded to them by the Ius & Politia Foundation—a foundation for education and research in law and political science, housed within theAcadémie des Sciences Morales et Politiques.

Each year, the Academy honors the best works or recognizes the most meritorious initiatives. It does so in the spirit of the members of the National Convention when they founded the Institut de France: “To monitor […] scientific and literary works aimed at the general welfare and the glory of the Republic” (Law of 3 Brumaire, Year IV).

This innovation award recognizes “an outstanding educational or institutional initiative” as part of their project“Learning Differently: Law and Cinema,” which offers a new and engaging approach to teaching law through the production of short and medium-length films that harness the power of cinematic imagery.

“Learning Differently: Law and Film”is led by Sandrine Grenier, an associate professor of private law at the Béziers University Institute of Technology (IUT), Department of Marketing Techniques, and a member of LICeM, and Sandy Blanco, a professor of film and audiovisual studies at the Béziers University Institute of Technology (IUT).

LICEM congratulates them on this award, which adds to the Innovation Award awarded bythe University of Montpellier in 2025.
