19th World Conference of the International Association for Consumer Law

The Law School of the University of Buenos Aires hosted the 19th Conference of the International Association for Consumer Law (IACL) on July 23, 24, and 25, 2025. The theme was “New Challenges in Consumer Law: Celebrating 40 Years of the United Nations Guidelines for Consumer Protection and the Founding Fathers of the IACL.” The conference addressed the progress made and the remaining challenges in protecting consumer rights.
This international event brought together experts, professors, researchers, and representatives from around the world to discuss and collaborate on consumer law issues, providing a global platform for academic exchange and the creation of collaborative networks.
Presentations, panel discussions, and workshops were held, addressing both traditional issues and new challenges in consumer protection law and policy.
Three members of LICeM— Malo Depincé, Cécile Le Gal Fontés, and Guillaume Monziols—spoke at the conference.
